91 subframe on a 92-96 CR250 frame...Will it work?

Does anyone on here have experience putting a 91 subframe, shock, swing arm, air box, etc... on a 92-96 frame? I have a 1991 250 that I really like, but I catastrophically destroyed the bottom end/cases. I bought a 98 motor thinking that it would bolt right in, it does not. On top of that, I have a 91 pipe and a 98 pipe, niether will work.

 

Can I just get a 92-96 frame and pipe and put it all together? Has anyone had first hand experience here?

I personally haven't tried it, but the bikes are completely different generation frames, so I would bet that nothing will directly interchange

92 was a big change year for the cr-series, im sure if you are good with a welder and a cutting torch you could make it work................
