California Cal City Weekend...

Recommended Posts

It was a fun trip.  conditions were perfect.

Glad we camped up there with the kids and my son in law. The 70 mile ride to the prison, Kramer junction, and back was fun as well.  Glad Roger and Ed made it up for the ride.

My grandson Zack, on his 150, did a great job leading us on the ride. He set a good pace and took a nice route. He's nearly ready to make the next jump, to a 250 soon. He jumped on my old 250 back at camp and handled it well.

too bad my gopro files got corrupted.  I'm trying to salvage what I could recover. will post when I can.

here is some clips of my grandson trying out my 250.  keep in mind, he upgraded from a klx 110l to a Honda crf 150 six months ago. that boy keeps on growing like a weed

and some clips I was able to salvage

Great pictures! I was out there this weekend as well. We camped close to where the tower that burned down last year was. Do you have a link or coordinates to the prison and/or the little abandoned town in your video? It looks pretty cool to explore

If you are worried about gas, you could fill up at kramer junction, also grab a burger too.

It shouldn't be too far. Where i camp is around 22 miles north of kramer junction.  Thanks for the info. We aren't plated though. Have you had an issue while trying to grab gas or a burger?

No issues at all.  We like to get a burger at Astro Burger, then cross the street (highway 395) to the chevron and get gas. however, the last two times we needed to cross the far street (highway 58) and get a burger at burger king.  no issues at all about riding into those establishments.  the trails ride right into town. We like crossing about 100 to 200 feet from the intersection, and one or two of the adults stop in the road until the kids cross.
