xr200r shock rebuild thoughts

Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on the 2 different options for upgrading my 82 xr200r shock.

 

Racetech offers a complete shock shaft asm which includes their gold valve for $399

Works performance offers their Heart Transplant "adjustable cartridge kit" for $499

I know the RaceTech doesn't include labor which is fine because I'll be installing it,  not sure if works price is installed or not though.  I'm leaning more torwards the RaceTech kit just because of the Gold Valve, but I'm open to all opinions.

Well I considered rebuilding this shaft, even ordered the parts to do it.  As always a tad premature.  After dis-assembly tonight I realized this shaft is a no go.  So one of the above options is going to be it.  Anyone have any suggestions or opinions RaceTech or Works Performance?
