want to remove scratches

Guys, I purchased a used Honda CRF250X bike.

 I like it, but it has many scratches. What is the best way to delete them? It is the first my bike, so I do not what would be better. Maybe special paint for cars?

What's scratched on it? The plastics? Frame? What year is it? If it has an aluminium frame which I'm positive it does and that's what is scratched get a scotch bride pad and wd40 to polish/clean it up if it's the plastics just get new ones

Every scratch tells a story. If you're not the one who scratched it you can either make up some good stories or buy new plastics but please, for the love of God, DO NOT paint your plastics to get rid of scratches. I guess you could take a hobby knife to any large gouges and try to smooth it over with a fine grit sandpaper but I'm not sure why someone would go through that on a bike that's just gonna get bounced off more trees and rocks anyway.

Frankly, painting plastics is for idiots. It will chip off, fade, and generally look like crap.

That PC Racing Plastic Renew works pretty well. But it's a lot of work. I'd just replace the plastic and know it WILL get scratched again.

Sand the plastics and use a heat gun to bring back the shine. stop listening to others and just go do that, lol.

Wait for a few more scratches, then realize, its a dirt bike, then it wont bother you anymore.

Flat black works best. You can get grill paint anywhere. Don't listen to these guys flat black bikes look totally tits!

Spend the 125$ and get new plastics. And cheap graphics are usually around 50$. Its the best way of ridding scratches. Now on the frame I do scotch brite pads for Boot marks and small scratches. Gives it a nice but barely noticeable shine

My plastics have 4 seasons of use and tumbles and I'm not about to replace them anytime soon, money better invested elsewhere on the bike.

 

I simply wipe Armor-All on the plastics after washing the bike and despite some scratches it looks dam good from 5-6 feet away or more,

often getting compliments from other riders parked alongside my truck in the pits.

After a few minutes of riding, the plastics are either dusty or muddy anyway so even the worst scratches don't even attract any attention.

I would try some SC1 from Maxima . The stuff works great for making any rubber or plastic bits look great . SC1 should be available at a local bike dealer and might be worth a shot before buying new plastics . JMHO .

Accerbi is the stock manufacturer for honda.....but any that fits is good, your gonna scratch it all up anyways  ?

If I were to buy aftermarket plastics I'd search web reviews for the better fitting ones than better 'looking' ones

 

as ill fitting body panels are far more noticeable (and ugly) than styling or surface finish blems.

I do not have a heat gun. 

 

 

Surely, new plastic is good, but now I do not want to spend money on it.

It seems that it can be used for plastic. I will try to degrease and repaint the plastic. Will add photos, when I am ready with it!

You will need to keep a stock of rattle cans, after every ride you will need a respray. Good luck

The other day I was cleaning my bike in the garage and my wife was cleaning the house she came to the garage and left the bucket with the cleaning products I was looking through some of these products and I saw a mop&glo, since the product does magic for my kitchen floor( vinyl) I decided to try , put on my plastics and graphics and the bike was shining like New, I thought to myself it will last long ride after 5 washes and 5 rides is still look like new maybe you should give a try

Maybe it is even better than painting. I think that after spray paint I will have a huge mess in the garage.
