zderekv Posted November 11, 2015 Hey guys, I'm thinking about buying a '03 KX 250 to ride some woodsy New England trails. I'm currently on an '08 450 XCF (sh!t load of bike) but I miss riding a 2 stroke. Had an old 300 EXC and loved it but never got comfortable with the power delivery of the 450 (again, sh!t load of bike) so I want to go back to a 2 stroke for woodsy trails with lots of turns. I'm a big guy (250 in gear) so I know no matter what I buy it's gonna require some suspension work but I'm wondering about the rest of the KX 250 as a whole. Any advice will be appreciated but please keep it to KX 250's in the '03-'04 range. I'm not trying to start that kind of "what bike should I buy" thread. Thanks! Wonderspoon Posted November 11, 2015 Since you are doing the suspenders that part should work out nicely. I had a 2000 kx for woods work and it is kind of a large bike that IMO does not turn as well as the other 250s of that era I've ridden. It is very stable. The kx also has a fairly high 1st gear. You will need to gear accordingly.
