Recovered Bikes

Recommended Posts

I know this not the right forum for this but I posted my stolen bikes flyer in here 16 months ago. I never bought new bikes, but lately I was finally getting ready to. Monday evening I got a call that I never thought would happen. The police recovered both of my bikes and surprisingly they were in really good shape. Just wanted to share my story and for once bikes were recovered in good shape and the bad guys went to jail

Congrats man! I love to hear these kind of endings. How far away were they from where they were stolen, just curious.

30 miles

That's great!

Can you share all the details?

A house was broken into and a safe containing 250,000 worth of cash and jewelery was stolen. The detectives went to a house in the neighborhood were some known dirt bags lived (detective words). While questioning a lady and man the man tried to push my 530 exc into the garage, the detective said hold up and ran the plate, the plate came back as a husky. Luckily the Detectives is an avid dirt bike rider and knows the difference. He then ran the VIN and it came up stolen and I was notified. While talking to the detective on the phone I asked if they had my 2013.5 dungy bike and after explaining it to him he said he didn't think the other 2 bikes were mine. So I didn't have to pay the impound or tow fees the detective said I could come to the house and pick up my bike. When I arrived at the house they rolled my 530 out to the street and although it was changed up some it looked in pretty good shape. I seen the other 2 bikes up on the driveway and noticed the anodized triple clamps on the 450. I asked the detective to bring the bike down and once they did I had no doubt the 450 was mine also. I didn't have my bill of sale so my wife called munn racing where I bought it from and they texted the bill of sale right over, VIN matched and I got my bike back. The also recovered a 250 ktm and a 40 ft WW toyhauler that we also stolen.

As we were loading the bikes the lady there had the nerve to come down to my wife and I and say I can't believe your taking our bikes, you are going to ruin our thanksgiving trip, lol. They both were arrested

Thanks for sharing, and stoked you got your property back.

Just saying.......it would have taken my kids or some sort of higher power to not beat the brakes off the lady.

You ruined their Thanksgiving trip??!!!! Geez, what a ....( rhymes with punt).

Not sure how you ruined their Thanksgiving, they will get a lovely canned Thanksgiving turkey, hang out with lots of new friends in the mess hall, wander back to their bunk in their private room the taxpayer is paying for, and not have to do a thing to earn it...and a free public defender to plead their pathetic case before a judge! Sounds like she just didn't see the big picture.........

Congrats on getting your bikes back, I'm glad the turds got busted and you got your hard-earned stuff back.

Wow!  You have to wonder where some people get their sense of entitlement...

Glad to hear you got your property back.

WOW, that's awesome. good for you. I posted a few years back a stolen new KTM from my bosses house. a few  weeks later I got a tip and gave my boss the info. He said he'll give the detective a call. one month later the tipster contacted me again asking if the police were going to call. I asked my boss about it and he said we've been trying to call and no answer... they had the tipsters cell phone and address, why didn't they just go to the house. Anyway, I read between the lines I realized it was an insurance scam. Several months later he let me go. Earlier this year he was canned for stealing $ from the company.

yup, saw an old employee of mine at the off road show in Pomona and he told me my boss was canned for getting busted. He was pretty shady and I caught him on several things but kept my mouth shut. I should have spilled my guts when I was let go but figured Karma would come back  and it did in May this year. His boss (VP) was also canned as he and one of his son's was moonlighting. Geeezuz, this is not a small company here. $800M a year in sales. They have good lawyers too.
