any heavy riders here on crf250l ?

Recommended Posts

Just curious am I the only one here over 220lb (100kg) ???

I wonder if you had any problems related to being too heavy for this bike

like handling, power delivery, frame issues etc

thanks

Well it's not as quick as it would be with a 98lb stick figure on it but it pulls me around just fine.

I don't try to ride it like a motocross bike so I have no smashed any frame tubes, just ding them rock crawling in the Ozarks.

230 here and pulls ok. Don't feel comfortable jumping it but am way to old for that anyway.

I am 230 and haven't had a single issue.  I'd bottom the stock suspension when getting after it sometimes but it's a Honda.  It can take it.  I have since upgraded to race tech suspension setup for my fat ass and it makes a huge difference.

200 lbs and after racetech I haven't had a problem. I have beat the crap out of my bike and haven't had a problem. I don't take my bike on motocross tracks but I do jump it and ride some very technical stuff and it's held up fine

215LBS here, carry about 80lbs of gear, no problems so far other than on the highway.  If there is a head wind and incline... :banghead:

13/42 sprockets should fix that problem if you do not mind running at higher RPM's on the highway  ....

215-ish here. Stock power was pretty anemic but got me around more than well enough to be having a blast. Just a few adjustments so far (EJK, backfire screen and snorkle removed, spark arrestor shortened to uncork the muffler, 13/42 gears) and the bike was thoroughly transformed.

As a born and raised horsepower addict I can say that the crf250l is such a well designed package that it doesn't have to be the lightest or most powerful to be amazing, even for 200+. Even the ridiculously soft suspension will get around in all conditions well enough (for now). Just don't try to jump even the smallest bump unless bottoming out somehow suits your style.

I weighed 265 lbs when i got the bike but luckily i live in flat land coatal SC/GA.  Between the flat and the limited skill it all seemed fine for me!  The radiator fan would come on alot haha

Now 1.5 years later i am 175 and the bike feels like a new experience for sure

So it is ridable for real heavy riders (it says 350 lb max limit) but of course much faster and nimble with less weight :) :)

I am still loving this, my first and only bike!!
