Kdubz Posted November 13, 2015 So I have a 06 crf250r and I got to the spark plug got my spark plug socket or whatever it's called put it down there and it won't budge at all. What the hell am I doing wrong?? I know it fits the plug cause it fits my new one and that's the exact one in the bike right now.
nzgsr Posted November 13, 2015 Use a bigger ratchet, breaker bar or throw some pipe over the ratchet. The bigger the lever the bigger the force.
Kdubz Posted November 13, 2015 I'm worried I'll break something in there tho?
418Stroker Posted November 13, 2015 Spray some PB Blaster or WD 40 down the spark plug hole and let it sit over night, ensure bike is leaning to the left so the rust penetrating liquid does not come out the drain hole on the right side. Use an extension and ratchet when removing the spark plug to give you better leverage and control.
Kdubz Posted November 16, 2015 After walking away from it for an hour and trying again I got it out. Thanks guys
mossman77 Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) Glad to hear it. For future reference, sometimes it helps to give it a couple budges in the CW direction, then try to loosen it again. Also probably easier to get loose with a warm engine. Edited November 16, 2015 by mossman77
