2008 RMZ 450 STATOR OIL?

Recommended Posts

Could someone please help me? I have a 2008 RMZ 450 (fuel injection model) and the bike has fallen over cracking the stator cover with the gear lever. When it cracked open A LOT of oil came leaking out while lying on its side, is this normal for the bike to have oil inside covering the stator as I was under the impression that its supposed to be dry???

I am new to four strokes and have always had 2 strokes so if someone could please help me out with this?

Some bikes do but I don't think the rmz has anything like that I have never had the stator cover off of mine. My Honda's the stator was always submerged in oil

After a little search I believe the stator cover should have some oil in it. This would be to lube the timing chain and timing chain gear. This is not my pic it's just from Google ImageUploadedByThumper Talk1447967774.988751.jpg
