Tight valves make no noise, maybe if they had no oil, but not out of clearance.

Bet you it's your timing chain tensioner, it has happened to most of us.

It could be timing chain tensioner. How can i check to see if it is the problem or not? I have an extra tensioner from an old motor

uhhh.  put the extra one on and see if the sound goes away???

remove old tensioner.

RETRACT the new tensioner all the way.

THEN bolt it on fully.

THEN let it pop out with a flathead screwdriver.

DO NOT bolt it on while its full extended.

sounds to me like it has a bearing failing... just a guess of course.  Let's hear it!

Could my rod bearing going out causing it to knock and killing itself?? My old motor use to do it before my rod blew out the front of the motor

Two most likely causes: Big end connecting rod bearing and main bearings.

Just because those are the two most likely causes doesn't mean there couldn't be something else happening.  A knock warrants a complete dis-assembly and inspection unless of course the knock is detonation.

Until it get's a thorough inspection every guess is just speculation.

I understand im just looking to see if someone knows a little more than i do, im 15 and know enough about this motor to rebuild it but i just dont know the cause of the knock or most problems

Its was valves and possibly little rod end. Wrist pin is very worn and scarred and one valve was ever so slightly bent
