wshewbrooks83 Posted November 21, 2015 I just bought a complete rebuild kit for my yz 125 and I'm doing my first rebuild. Just wondering if anyone one can give me any tips on easier ways to do it. I have the manual but that doesn't always help.
YZJ Posted November 21, 2015 Pull the engine. Everything is easier on a workbench. Go slowly make sure everything is 100% the first time. Good luck.

mlatour Posted November 21, 2015 (edited) Cleanliness... of parts, tools, hands and work area. Make sure the outside of the engine is clean of dirt and grime build-up before tearing it apart. Less chance of debris falling into it and that the overseen grit ruins a new piston, ring or cylinder. Take plenty of pictures during the disassembly process so if ever in doubt during re-assembly you can verify previous cable routing, different bolt length locations etc. Make sure you have the right tools for the job, trying to install/remove things with the wrong tools often leads to damaged parts.
