MoreBassXD My Ride Posted November 21, 2015 I'm having issues with my fcr install. I think being a California bike, it has extra shit for smog that is making it harder. I removed all of the charcoal canister system, the r&r is loose but it seems like there is no way for it to remount to the stock locations with the new carb there, anyone have any tips on this? omargue Posted November 22, 2015 (edited) I'm not familiar with the additional smog parts on a CA DRZ but I know many including myself at first think the airboot is too short to reach the FCR. It took me quite a bit of work to make it fit but it does. This was also the 1st bike I ever work on so that could have made it harder for me. Makes me not want to ever take it off or have to adjust jetting... I used 2 12" screw drivers to pry/push the carb to reach the airboot to secure. Qqqqqqqqqqqq My Rides (3) Posted November 23, 2015 Yeah .. Use a heat gun set on LOW .. Use it to warm up the air boot to allow it to be easier to work with . Fit the carb into the air boot first , tighten the clamp and connect to the inlet manifold . Removing the reg / rectifier and top motor mount makes it easier
