Kai Aven My Ride Posted November 22, 2015 I've just bought a ktm 250 excf and if I have the idle so it won't cut out and blip the throttle the revs will stay high for a while then drop back down, if I have it so the revs don't stay high it won't tick over and just cuts out. I've cleaned the carb out, the fuel screw has a new o ring. I know the jets in the carb have been changed. Starting to wonder whether they've got wrong jets in? Anyone else has this problem? Kai Aven My Ride Posted November 22, 2015 Forgot to mention that the exhaust manifold glows red hot, surely this can't be right?
KRAYNIAL My Rides (5) Posted November 22, 2015 It's called hanging idle You make no mention of the fuel screw position or hot start, which is where your problem will be, assuming the passage above the pilot jet is not partially clogged.
Kai Aven My Ride Posted December 3, 2015 All sorted now, took it to a local bike shop, the jetting was completely wrong, blocked as well
