Spark arrestor question

Recommended Posts

New guy here who hasn't ridden in 25 years. I just picked up a 2016 KTM 350 XCF-W. I thought the spark arrestor was missing as I couldn't see the screen in the silencer. But after reading the manual the screen is internal to the silencer. That's fine, but when I'm eventually pulled over on the trail I'm wondering how I prove it to the officer. I've seen some pictures where the KTM silencers are printed with "spark arrestor" on them but mine doesn't have that either.

Just curious because I don't think they are going to take my word for it if they can't see the screen.

Thanks!

The places I ride, WA, OR, CA, they use a long skinny rod to check if the screen is there. Just do the same, maybe it's there just deep inside the exhaust.

Perfect, thanks!  I bet they do the same here.
