kenda track master 2/ Thor Range pant/ HHD +20mm shifter rev's

Recommended Posts

hey all since this is all on KTM i fig i'd put it here and spread into other sections once asked.

i got my 15' 450 xcw in april this year.  4 rides in and i had slavens springs in front and back, followed by EE bark busters.  It came with 110/100-18 F&R dunlop AT81's.  i got 27 hours/ 500 miles on them.  The front is good but the rear was toast from PNW forest.

I decided after much research to go with kenda track master 2 120/100-18.  I asked on here about the IRC M5B, but amazon jumped hte price to $90+ when i was ready to buy and bike bandit had hte kenda at $68 with free ship as well as my new THOR Range pants at $70. w/ free 2 day shipping on there new "podium member" discount.

I also shread off my shifter and link a few months back and had to replace (thread on that also).  I replaced with hammer head des. alum shifter with +20mm tip (size 15 boot/ also a thread on here) but am finally able tomorrow to get out and test!

Ill report baclk about how it all went.  tomorrow's cond's are gonna be low to mid 40's so itll be a good test of range pant as far as weather is concerned.  Also its raining so I plan to run the kenda at 10-13 PSI.  seemed still as all can be today when i pumped it up to 16 PSI.

attch'd are photos of all but the pants.

* I also got the HHD shifter bolt with safety wire hole, so i safety wired it so it can't reverse out like I heard is a problem w/ them.

Track master has been around for 20 years, I used to run them on my CR500, Ive never ran them on the road, although they are street legal. very usable choice for a rear dirt tire.

Cold colllld day in the PNW forest temps were 36-42 deg's outside.  but all in all it was a good one.

The kenda hooked up great and got me thru every thing i threw at it. I ran it at 16 PSI as i aired up early this am and left my pressure meter at home.  proly could have gotten away with 12 and hooked up even more.

The thor range pants were awesome but i need to figure out if the built in gator goes in boot or around the outter of your boot.  reguardless they worked out great.

Lastly the hammer head des. alum shifter w/ +20mm head was bad ass!! its a little bit harder to shift from sitting postion, but now when i stand shifting is awesome!

cant wait to get out on her again,  my buddy ran out of gas at 25 miles but he is brand new to riding and he alot to learn about jetting (01 CR250)!

The gators go outside the pants. They are mainly to help keep water and dirt out of your boot. If they didn't have the button on the bottom then I would say that they could be used inside or out, but that button would not be comfortable to have inside the boot and I wouldn't see the point of putting them inside either.
