So I'm probably going to be trading some parts for this bike Tommorow but ,HUGE PROBLEMO, don't know what it is. I'm searching on the Internet and I come to a conclusion, yz60 , but then it has a blue seat. I'm stuffed if I know, yz50? ALL HELP APPRECIATED

Don't let the seat color throw you. Could have been changed. Best thing is to see bike, check VIN and engine number. To small of s pic to help. Pre-80's?

Taking a punt on it being a 1980 YZ50. IIRC the YZ60 had radial style cooling fins.

Looks to be about a 1982 YZ60...

So it looks like NOT pre 1980... My bad. But the pipe is on the right. More research is needed in my lab.

Can you give us a better picture? 

 

I need to hunt down a frogs ear, eye of crow, and feather of a pig if you can't. Throw that in my spinning wheel and see what pops up.

1982 YZ50 puts the pipe on the "right" side.

1982 YZ 50 I believe is correct. The seat going up on the tank is the clue. No production YZs had that until 1992. It is most likely a Aussie / Europe model not offered in the US. At least not quite the same. Red and white color scheme. For there time were awesome bike.

Also has the magneto cover on the other side taken off. I was hoping to "recondition " it to a roller. Does anyone think that I could get the engine going? What other engine would fit in it ? Stationry of some type (gx Honda horizontal???) opinions ??
