270 mm brake rotor conversion requirements for 2011 KX250F?

Recommended Posts

Sorry, cross posted from KX250F forum, because this topic is not showing up under new content even for me. Maybe make/model stuff doesn't show up under new content for anyone?

Hello Folks,

My front wheel was pretty beat up after 4 years of bouncing off trees. Found an OEM 2015 full wheel setup, including the tire, spacers, and 270 mm brake rotor.

Do I need to do anything except get a caliper bracket to use the 2015 270 mm brake rotor on my 2011 bike? Thanks!

Partzilla has this one:

i believe you should just need the caliper bracket.  Not positive that the front brake is the same though between those years, check OEM part numbers if you want to be sure

Got the wheel, tire, brake disk, spacer package for $320, OEM unused. Chunk of cash, but still I think pretty good since I got a brand new tire and disk.

Yup that bracket is all you need. Hope its the right mm size. I didnt read just saw the pic. But it looked like mine. And i had to put washers on the OUTside of the bracket on my caliper bolt cause the bolts went in so far the tips hit the rotors rivets. Tic tic tic when rolling. Washers at the head didnt let them tighten as deep so they didnt stick out. My stock caliper bracket didnt have that problem. But were talkin a mm or two difference.

Good luck. Nice noticeable upgrade.

Thanks for the pics. Yes, that bracket is an aftermarket part made to adapt pre-2015 KX's to 270mm rotors. Will verify in a few days, but should fit right up. Really tired of my wobbly bent front wheel.  :ride:

The new wheel arrived today. I think we did pretty good for $320. Haven't run a Michelin 51M but it is in much better condition (new) than the old M403 I have on the old wheel. I do have a new X30 front tire sitting on a shelf but will wear out this 51M and then change it.
