About Bumper Carriers

Recommended Posts

I know a quite a few people use these, myself included so I thought I would put this out there. This morning I saw a guy in a Jeep CJ lose his back end on a wet road making a left turn. I think the short wheelbase, wet roads and a little extra speed did it. It was a little hairy but he saved it. I carry a CR250 on my truck with Snugtop bed cover and never thought a thing of it until this morning. The weight of a YZ thumper back there could act like a pendulum I guess.

Just something to think about when using one of these.

Simple solution...slow down.

Most folks do not think of the leveraged weight when using these racks.

Probably the same guys that tow 30 ft travel trailers behind their F150's and need the back up computer.

Anyone here remember the hoop carriers that hung on the real bumpers that used to be on cars? We started with two, one on each end and a boat hooked up also. Fun weekends.

Yes, I had a set of those. Worked ok when cars had real steel bumpers to hook them on to. Biggest bike I ever carried was 175 Canam TNT O/R. In hindsight not sure how I trusted them? Lol
