XR250R Blowing white smoke and oil drained quick

Recommended Posts

Just had my 2005 xr250 in for a service and roadworthy and have done just over 100km and while riding today i notice it started to blow a bit of white smoke. I got home after the ride today and turned if off for a hour then started it up and once it got warmed up the smoke started coming out again... also just checked the oil and i can just get a reading on the dip stick and i have only done just over 100km since oil change. So what is my solution here?

Not enough information to give a solution.  Try changing oil to 20W-50.  Next would be a leakdown test.  After that, disassembly, inspection, and precision measurement.

Firstly, call the shop that did the work, it sounds like someone screwed up.

But from now on replace your oil & filter yourself for starters. I brought an 01 XR250 which just had a service by a workshop. It had over 5L of oil in it, about 2L fell out of the air box when I inspected the air filter.

The late model 250 requires around 1.4L.
