terrobelone Posted January 2, 2016 Hey guys, I scored a set of 08 Procircuit triple clamps. My question is, what forks will fit? And what are the ideal forks to look for ( year to year changes/upgrades worth finding?)
Fenmore Posted January 2, 2016 the question is what size are the clamps? 47mm or 48mm basically CRF250s changed to 48s in 2010 and CRF450s changed to 48s in 2009, prior years were 47mm 3rd generation CR's ran 47mm as well. I would assume yours are 47mm if it was 2008
Fenmore Posted January 2, 2016 Also, what year bike are you putting them on? You could run into a spacer issue
Fenmore Posted January 2, 2016 and there's the bearing issue....lol I change my 3rd gen CR250 to 2014 CRF450 clamps with 2010 CRF250 forks. Made a huge improvement in cornering/handling

Fenmore Posted January 3, 2016 I don't know about the 48mm fork fitting into the 47mm clamp. I tried using a 47mm fork in my 48mm clamps with a shim (as suggested in the 2 stroke forum). My forks never moved but oddly enough the shim did. I wasn't going to chance it so I just bought the 48mm forks. Logic would say that the 47mm clamp would put too much pressure on the fork and they would not operate properly unless you could figure out the torque difference. Again, something I personally don't think is worth trying. I am talking about the spacer on your front axle.
Eddie8v Posted January 3, 2016 You can bore the 47mm clamps so that the 48mm forks will properly fit.
HRC27 My Rides (2) Posted January 3, 2016 If a machine shop won't do it, call Emig Racing. He makes custom clamps so I would think he could handle it. Worth a call anyway....
