What the HECK is this cr125 piston? 58mm big bore . . . . .

Recommended Posts

Pulled this out of a 93 CR125. Obviously it is a 57.96mm big bore, but I can find no maker, and none of the numbers come up on a Google search.

Anyone seen this before, or can lend some expertise?

I am stuck.

Sorry if this shows up twice, I posted from my phone but I can't find that the post is alive anywhere.

Obviously a 57.96mm big bore, but I find no maker, and the numbers do not come up on any Google search that I have tried in an hour and a half.

Anyone ever seen such?

Well, I sent the photos to Vertex, they have confirmed Scotty's identification.

Scotty, you win!

Still do not know what the numbers on top are . . . . and Vertex shoulda been marked with a logo on the bottom.

Got one coming, will confirm in a couple days!

Thanks! Jon

I bought this bike to resell.  Paid $500. I never rode it, but the guy I bought it from roosted up and down the road a few times.  Engine sounded OK, no mains growling, and minimal piston slap.  Suspension and brakes are good.

I touched up the frame paint, put new tires on it, new plastic and decals.

Compression was a bit low, so popped off the cylinder and found this piston.  Now I have bought a new piston and gaskets.

I got $1000 in it now, still do not have it ready to sell.

I ain't gonna make no money .  .  .  .  .  . :(

Good thing I am independently wealthy .  .  .  .  .  . oh wait, I'm not wealthy at all.  ?
