These new 'game style' track maps are absolutely no help at all. The reason why the 'arrow maps' were better is because it gave the viewer a view from a higher vantage point . . . we could process the 'layout of the track'. When you look at a street map to understand directions, you don't want to see from street level, you need to see from above so that you can understand the route, the turns, the over all trip.

 

But, that's just my opinion.
