will 09 yz250f fork and shock fit on my 08 yz450f?

I just bought a 250f that was setup for the woods and I really like the suspension. Will it be a direct fit in my other bike? thanks for any input

The shock, yes, but the forks may be shorter.  If not, they will fit.

 

However, both units will need to be revalved and resprung for the heavier bike.

Both forks r 11.8 inches of travel but I think the 450 is 12.3 inches of rear travel. According to yamaha the 450 is 6 lbs lighter dry I don't get that

Fork travel has nothing to do with anything. Overall length of the fork itself is what's important. Yamahas website is wrong. The 450 is heavier and always has been...

What about just changing out the dampers would that be hard?

Provided that both forks are the same length, you could take the entire cartridge from one and the springs and install them in the other, yes, but what exactly would be the point in that? 

 

As to rear travel, that is not a function of the shock, as the shock itself only has about 3.5-4" or so of travel internally.  The actual wheel travel is a function of that number and the geometry of the swing arm and shock linkage.
