2006 yz250f piston diagnosis question

Recommended Posts

image.jpgimage.jpg I have an 06 vertex piston with an 04 head. I can't tell if the piston needs replacement? Has 20.7 hours on it. I've only raced once on it. Most was practice. I like to run the bike on the rich side but the piston looks off to me? Also, it looks like the middle intake valve hit the piston but the valve looks fine. Haven't had any issues, I just take the bike apart every year to check torque specs and what not.

1. How noisy is it when its running?

2. When was the last time the timing chain was replaced?

3. Does the piston pin rock in the rod small end?

4. Does the piston pin rock in the piston?

5. Do the buckets rock in the head bores?

6. How many hours does the crank/rod assy have on it?

That clean place on the side the center intake pocket is very interesting.  I'd just clearance it and run it.... depending on what the answers to the above questions are.  I'd say the piston is rocking
