cr125 swingarm upgrade?

Recommended Posts

I'm waist-deep into a 1989 CR125 resto.  I'm wondering if the rear swingarm has room for improvement.  Is there an aftermarket option, is there something better I could bolt in place?  Also in need of foot peg solutions.  These are pretty well beat to heck.  Any comments/questions/advice much appreciated.

ll - i don't see nothing wrong in the stock Honda swingarm. But back in the day "cokebottle" swingarms were all the rage as thats what HRC mounted on the factory bikes over here in Europe. Carlo Verona (VRP) was doing them for HRC and later on offered them also to the public. These are very rare though. If you have the cash you han have replicas made by KLP.

I have never ridden the swingarm alone, only the whole aluminium chassis&swingarm which makes a huge difference over the flexy steel frame. It's much more rigid and the ride is like you would have a modern bike underneath...I just did some vintage races in 2015 and was really impressed by how good that old machinery actually is.
