So I finally did it....2015 FE250

Recommended Posts

I found a leftover 2015 FE250...Yay...Super Happy. Took my only 7 years to buy a new bike... :D

Supposed to arrive this coming Thursday.

Is there anything I should know about the bike? Any Do's and Don'ts?

Congrats! You think you are happy now....just wait till you ride her!

Important to change the oil after the first hour.

If coming from a Japanese bike, the wheel spacers have to be knocked with a long punch though the hole on the opposite side.  I had to figure this out on my own, I asked but no one replied.

Seemed like a simple question, that should be known, unless people don't routinely service their seals and bearings. But judging by the reported bearing failures on other sites, they must not do that.

Anyway , Ive grown to really like the press fit spacers, Grease the seals, and a drop or 2 of gear oil on the sealed bearings, everytime you pull the wheel you'll have life time bearings (it will work its way in) but don't over do it just a drop or two.

Thank you. I will certainly change the oil and filter at the 1 hour mark.

Do you guys use any specific oil brand?

@spud786

Thank you for heads up. I will keep that in mind when I service the bike.

FMF Mega bomb exhaust, much better across the board on our 2014 FE250.

T-stat removal unless you ride cold temps a lot

Remove the gas tank check valve.

Engine Ice/Evans coolant
