Showa shock that much different than KYB?

I have. 2013 kx450f and am tweaking valving, ok my LSC stack had (10) 44x.20 and it feel like it's good. Now I was playing with my 2011 rmz450 and shock was way to soft so I went and put the original tuners stack in and the LSC has (16) 44x.20. That seem really stiff or is a Showa that much different that 16 can work?

What does each clamp on ?the hs stack also makes a difference to low speed

It has the same gold valve as my kx450f but this shock has an 18mm shaft.

That looks really stiff ?maybe the ddc is soft but that would cause cavitation

It was a Mike Alessi practice bike so thats why it's stiff, heck he is small and it's sprung for my weight of 225 lbs.  I have never ridden it on rough stuff though, i'll see tomorrow.  Whats DDC?
