It amazes me when I see that rebound stack ,the doubled up 0.25 at the end of the stack are almost identical to single 0.3 so why bother ? Any shim that close to the clamp isn't going to be felt unless you make huge changes eg going from a single 0.20 to maybe 2*0.3s

I agree mog, I replaced the double .25s with .30s for simplicity and set up a 3 stage stack for reb and comp. Forks I pulled a couple bv face shims, built a 2 stage mv and a better rebound stack. Bike is phenomenal now!

Not trying to hijack the thread, but would the valving in a newer machine such as the OP's make for better suspension in an older bike? Let say I changed my valve stacks in my 2006 yz250f to match the OP's 2016.

You could do it with the forks but they can be improved greatly over the stock 16. Stock was harsh and made the front tire want to push in corners.

The 06 put less weight on the front wheel ,so requires a softer stack than a 16 ,basically it won't work the same as on a 16
