Heat issue?

Recommended Posts

I just rebuilt my 09 kx450. with a Wiseco 13:5 piston. And had the ECU callibrated by Tokyo Mods. But now within a couple of minutes running my Header(FMF powerbomb)

is hitting 385 degrees with my temp gun. Never had a temp issue before the rebuild. Water pump issue?

Did you measure the temp before the rebuild?

Exhaust gases are hot. The header will start glowing if you let it sit and idle. That's somewhere around 700F.

Unless your cooling system starts spitting and hissing, I wouldn't worry too much.

The header will reach higher  temperature then the engine but thats normal

You cant measure your engine by measuring your header

Drive your KX and if the  motor starts to boil over in normal driving (motocross or high speed trailriding)

then you can be worried
