Yz85 clutch problem please help

Recommended Posts

So I went to test ride my bike before I went riding. First I let it warm up. When I pull the clutch in and shift down to first the bike jumps forward dramatically and stalls. It will do it over and over again. I tried Reving it a little and then clicking down but that doesn't help. Any help is appreciated thank you

Ensure your cable tension is to spec. Look at your clutch basket for grooves. You may be able to sand them down, but it sounds like you may need new clutch basket too. What is happening is your clutch plates are not seperating

No problem. But it seems weird how a yz85 which can't be any older than 13 years old is needing a clutch basket but my 1983 yz80 is still on its original clutch basket and it's still ok. And no it wasn't babied it's whole life either.
