Just got this 04KTM200 super stoked, but couple questions

Recommended Posts

This thing has a really late hit on the powerband. I would like it to be sooner. Which direction do i turn the power adjuster?

Finally got it jetted perfect and runs great at all ranges!

The airbox is the worst design ever. Any tips on sealing it better?

Anything to be done for handlebar vibration?

So happy to go from a drz400 to this on gnarly single track! A lot easier to pick up after a fall and fatigue level is so much lower.

Google for langston setting. There is a good picture tutorial on ktmtalk.com. Also consider a smaller carb and a gnarly pipe.

I like my PHDS its not a big difference though. Just ordered green soft rubbers to see if I like it.

Langston is a later hit like you have. It is that way to avoid wheel spin and smooth the motor out. I, like you, liked an earlier hit from mine to help lift front wheel etc. I cant remember which way to turn it, but look at my how to in the FAQ on the first page in this 2st forum.

Turning the adjuster clockwise makes the mark move up in the window if I recall correctly. Just check it as you adjust to make sure. Do about a half to full turn then take it for a spin.

I have 2 gnarly pipes for it, one on it and one new in the box. It has the PWK38, why go smaller?  What's a PHDS?

Yeah, I'm specifically riding mostly low end but like you said want it to hit just a little earlier for wheel lift. I've read your section but don't recall the direction to turn it. I'll read again, great section by the way!

I did not want to recommend the langston setting in my earlier post, just wanted show you a good tutorial on how to adjust the PV: http://www.702sportbikes.com/showthread.php?21825-Adjusting-The-Power-Valve-On-The-125-200-KTMs

The smaller carb usually works better for lowend. If you want downright power, a bigger carb is good, if you want good lowend performance a smaller carb is usually better suited. (Of course this is not applying to all situations) Maybe have a lonok at ron Blacks Website: http://rb-designs.com/ http://rb-designs.com/rb_designs_llc_010.htm http://rb-designs.com/rb_designs_llc_022.htm
