PSF 2 Fork Caps

Recommended Posts

Hi all, got a set of forks from a CRF 450 2015 and I'm thinking the guy before me mixed up the caps, so hopefully someone can confirm with me the correct side to match. I found it with the reb side cap attached to the dampening rod with the bleed all the way through to the end and the comp side cap with the bleed hole closed off at the end.

It seems to me that it should be the opposite but not a 100%.

Thanks

If I remember well the rebound side is the one with the bleed hole on the side.

The compression side, the one with the bleed hole all the way to the bottom

The caps are exactly identical. It wouldnt matter if they are mixed.

That's what I figured out too, but from a users stand point, you would want the compression cap to match the compression dampening rod, which is the one with the bleed hole all the way through the dampening rod.

Sure, you should know which leg contains the comp rod and which the reb rod.

You might just change the clicker during riding and see which alters the performance of the bike comp-ish and which reb-ish.

A sensitive rider should be able to do that :-D ;)

To be fair, on the psf2 Honda forks, the adjusters are worthless, so it doesn't really matter what you do.

The ®ebound cap has ®ed adjuster screw, goes on ®ight side.

The compression cap has (b)lue adjuster, goes on (b)rake side.

Oh, duh, the cap on the damper cartridge, not the cap attached to damping rod. Call me dumb.

Yes, compression bleeds up through bottom of rod. Rebound bleeds up through sides of rod. Caps are same.

I'll stay out of here, carry on.

To answer the original question. Comp side (left) bleeds on comp so all the way through the rod. You could swap them around and wouldnt matter though.

The reb side will also bleed on ultra ls comp movements.
