Cam chain guide broke

I pulled head off cause motor is hitting a hard spot where it's not turning over freely .The cam chain guide pulled right out and the motor is still getting caught up on somthing?

Where to get another one?I took one off of another bike and slid in without taking off flywheel.

What caused it to break?I found a little broken piece of metal down their to.is it going to be ok

Not sure which timing chain guide your having trouble with the front or rear, but  would guess its the front one. Probably  should remove the LS engine cover and flywheel to check to see if the lower cam chain guide holder is still there. That may be where the little broken piece of metal came from. Here is a link to an interesting thread that shows what looks like a good way to repair a broken lower cam chain guide holder.

Yes front one and don't have fly wheel puller does it have to be the special one for motorcycles

absolutely!!!!!!!!!  100% without a doubt please get the proper flywheel puller.

 

I used a plain ol car one and it end up costing me $2500.

 

I ended up ruining the passage way pin hole for oil to go through the center of the crank. crushed it.  then while teaching the girlfriend to ride a bike for the first time it seized up while she was riding it.  not only did I ruin my crank but it killed her confidence.  she still thinks its her fault that she ruined my engine.

 

I then rebuilt my bottom end for around $1100.  and the screw that holds the tab that holds the crank bearing in backed out and shredded everything.  ruined my case, piston, and cylinder.

 

at that point I gave up on that motor, bought a used 450r motor off ebay and slapped that in my bike.

 

 

so yes, you absolutely need a crf specific flywheel puller.

and heres the puller... wish I woulda spent $15 on the puller instead of $2500 on 2 motors.  fml.

Must use the special puller or you will damage the oil jet in the end of the crank.
