Decomp slop

I am working on a 2004, each time the decomp rod comes around the exhaust rocker makes a snapping sound. I pulled the cam and the rod doesn't appear to be bent, but it does seem sort of sloppy to me in the cam. But, I don't know if that is normal or not...?

It does seem like a lot but yeah thats normal

What about the snapping noise? It seems like it should go away once it starts but I don't know yet since it has other issues that I need to get fixed

when you turn the engine over with the kick starter the snapping noise you hear is normal, at idle you may be hear some snapping noise also. Once the rpm is above idle, momentum or centrifugal force will keep the weight on the decompressor rotated outward and it wont make noise. In other words the rocker arm wont have to bounce over the rod or shaft.
