I just rebuilt my carb and adjusted my pilot screw to where it sounds good, My idle is set at 1700 rpm and everytime i push in the hot start the motor shuts off. Is this a indication that the pilot screw needs to be turned out and allow more fuel in? Pilot screw is 1 1/2 turns out right now!

No. The hot start is used only to start/clear a very hot engine. It is not to be operated with the engine running. Igf the engine is not super hot, it will (a you found out) stall.

I know what the hot start is for, I watched this video last night and it got me thinking!
