How to use a timing degree wheels

Hey, I recently was buying parts for my bike and saw on clearance a pro motion timing degree wheel. At the time I was also replacing the crank seals and thought it would be cool to help with reassembling the stator. Can anyone help instruct me on how to use it? Lol I can't figure it out. I've only used one to install a cam in a car or truck.  I don't even know if you could use it for what you want.

You use a degree wheel on a two stroke to check port timing and duration.

Here are a couple videos

If you have not done any port work or changed the thickness of your base gasket you do not have any use for that tool.

Oh, I see. It said for engine timing so I assumed like ignition timing. So this cannot be used for setting the stator?
