I recently bought a 1996 DR 350SE with 14K miles on it. I have read there may be a problem with crank shaft failure related to the counter balancer drive gear pin. Apparently the hole the pin sits in (in the crank) may be drilled all the way through rather than part way through, resulting in cantostrophic failure. Is there any way to tell from the VIN# or other method to see if this problem exists? Any info is appreciated!
