Help Me Guestimate JE Piston or Not? Klx250, 300, 331, 351?

Recommended Posts

Im going to look at an 06 klx250s with 12500 miles in 4 hours. The guy has only had the bike for 2 month... and well... the price is $2200. It looks like it was only ridden on the street. My plan is to put a big bore 351cc and pumper in tight off the bat. I was looking at the pictures and noticed a JE piston sticker on the bike... i didn't make the connection before.

What are the chances it already has a big bore in it? Do they make 250cc replacements from JE, or just the big bore. I'm getting a little excitedat the though that it could already have a portion of what I'm planninh to do to it. Ahhh! ?

No way to tell from the outside. Yes JE makes a stock bore piston. My KLX came with a 340 big bore and didn't know it.

You can get stickers for anything. I have Ricky Stator stickers and could put them on a bike that doesn't have one. I wouldn't count on a sticker telling you anything.

If the guy claims its a big bore he needs paperwork to prove it
