04 YZ450f timing and valve clearance questions

Remove the oil pump and see how the pocket where the inner rotor of the pump runs.  If you aren't sure have someone take a look.  The frame can be flushed, but it can be a challenge to get the feed fitting and screen out of the bottom so as to do that.  

I removed the pump and the inner rotor of the pump looks fine to me...no pitting, gouging or chunks missing..the only thing I noticed was the oil pump drive gear being "wobbly" on its axis. What am I looking for?
