04 ninja 250rr problems

New batt, fresh oil and filter, cleaned air filter. Rode like 8 hours last weekend, rode 4 hours yesterday in 100 degree heat. Got a lil hot on gauge but at 70 80 it goes down.

So question this morning got gas, batt died had to jump it, runs but dies at every stop. Then while at a cruise it just died, and seems like it doesnt want to shift into first. Triple a is on their way to come get me

Ps, id have to rev it at stop lights so it wouldn't die.

First thing to figure out is why the battery died. Is the charging system working? 

 

If you can get the bike running check the voltage across the battery terminals. It should be ~13-14.5V at all RPM.
