Ho-hum, yet another setback in the AZ move.
1) #3 daughter moved back home with 2 grandkids 2.5 and 6yo but I am ecstatic for her to get away from looser boy.
2) #2 son, youngest of my 6 pack broke his back and fractured his clavicle and a couple ribs in Canaille UT free jumping last Friday with his brother and a bunch of buddies. He's a damn good rider (just one of those bad get-offs). We have been fully immersed in prayer that no surgery would be needed. Just got back from the spinal specialist, he will now be laid up for a month with a 4 month light duty recovery "GOD IS GOOD".
He will need my help with doctor visits, PT, navigating the governments health care/pay continuance/*workers comp system (*if it comes to that). Good thing he is FT employee with excellent benefits (same I had raising the 6 pack).
Biggest obstacle outside of healing will need to have time donated from fellow employees to keep his pay coming in since he only has 100 hours on the books and needs around 200 hours for PT/Doc visits/etc. I'm pretty sure "prayers needed" that will be taken care of because his oldest sister still works where I retired from, and I left with many younger friends that had issues through their careers and I donated to them, so the word is going out before catastrophic leave is requested from HR.
I had the same thing 7 years in (23ish years ago now) where I pulled my patella tendon off from a MTB accident and I was out for 2 months for 2 surgeries, raising 5 kids at the time, and all the time donations I got from fellow employees covered everything. Public Works County is still family, even though it be government.
I hope to get this house on the market by spring, and be fully AZ transplanted.
Looking for another smoker here to restore to keep my brain busy (was trying to get an 03 in Artesia but they guy is illusive), or maybe I'll bring the 2 back from AZ that pretty much just need assembly on one, and engine/assembly on the other. I'm going to be their next weekend for a few weeks to put in my kitchen floor. I haven't been to the house since June, and if my youngest can stand a 6.5 hour drive, I'm going to see if he would like to come out for a rest from SoCal. Mountain air, and R&R could do him good.

Peace, Gary
Sorry to hear that, your family is in our prayers sir.

Ok, I got the 03 today and now it's time for some rest and relaxation of tearing down, and building up a bike. Being in the house is driving me nuts, and the grandkids are going to be part of this build. My son is feeling better, and if I pick him up, he will hang out and drink my beer (he offered) but I told him no Perks (meds) and alcohol will be mixed.

Did someone want a blue Acerbis big tank on this forum or was that of the FB YZ250 page? It has one on it, so someone is welcome to it for a little XXX, I'll be putting a stocker on it. PM if interested.

The new victim at the YZDOC Restoration compound has arrived. Mismatch nuts and bolts, missing OEM collars, she will be showroom when she’s ready for a new pilot

We done did that on a few. I was thinking since I said I was, but never did, a Hurricane may be what's needed but dang the prices of yellow plastics/graphics.

There's another 2002 for sale in Riverside at the moment. $2k. Wish I could grab it.

Unfortunately this one is an 03 red sticker. The good new is the sticker program will en in 2025, but in 2022, two strokes and race bikes (current red sticker bikes) will only be allowed to be ridden in close corse competition only rendering all two strokes out of the desert for that date forward. CA BLOWS!!!

Looks like a desert tank!

It is, and it's available to anyone that wants a Acerbis tank. (PM) This tank does not have the crossover petcock on the right. It is is really good condition.

After taking this bike down to the frame while sipping some cold Newcastle (The only one) and talking to a buddy about bikes of course, it's a basket case of mixed bolts like the body. The engine case has some mix match bolts also so it's been open. She feels real tight on crank ends, but we shall see when the seals are out and the jug is off and I can give it a proper measure.

Man it felt good to spin some wrenches.

Such a shame. With no voting the government can just completely go back on their word. I assume the grandfathered 2002 and older bikes will not get any special treatment. Our air is already very clean, and there are very few bikes on the trails (compared to the total number of vehicles in the state). I am getting very tired of this state but can't really think of somewhere else that suits me. Trump's EPA man needs to come to the rescue! Haha!

The good news on all this is guys like me, and people that likes the older bikes. 2021 and older bikes will be grandfathered in to the red/green BS in 2025 that this state imposes on or free liberty to keep smoken LONG LIVE THE 2 STOKES!!!

Of course some asshat politician/greeny between now and then may lobby against it. Yah just never know.

Must have misunderstood the upcoming laws then. If 2003-2021 bikes are granfathered in as red stickers I guess that's the best we got. Seasonal off road use and year round track.

Exactly! That is how I interpreted the post. But again, leave it to a slime ball to roll up and say the 02 year sticks as the cut off. It is not how it was written at this point, but until it upon us, don't hold your breath, this IS the sanctuary of California.
