Suspension

Recommended Posts

I just bought my son a CRF250R. He is 5'7" tall and weighs only 123 pounds. I believe that the suspension is way too stiff for him. It is set exactly as it was when it came out of the crate. The bike has about 8 hours on it right now. Can I adjust this bike down to his weight, or do I have to buy parts to do it?

You might be able to get away setting up the suspension by messing with the clickers and sag. But the best thing to do is to either get softer springs (determine by checking static sag) or send it off to a suspension company for a revalve, they should also be able to lower the suspension somewhat for shorter riders. Id go to Factory connection for Suspension revavles on the Hondas. Hope this helps.

He has been riding for about 9 months and is just getting into motocross racing. He rides at three different tracks in the area. He has gotten a lot of hours under his belt considering it has just been nine months. We practice on Saturdays and Sundays for about 5-7 hours per day.
