Promote a business?

Question

How much can a poster promote their own business on TT by starting a thread about how "cool" their business is?  Does it even matter if it's motor sport related or not? What are the rules?

It's black/white. Standard terms give users a license for personal use. If someone wants to use the site to promote their business, it needs to be done under agreement with the house. We are sponsor supported, so we can't give away for free what they pay for (advertising).

OK, to take that a step farther then, can one tell by looking at their profile info on the left side of a post whether or not they are a supporting sponsor?

Yep.... They'll have a badge that reads, "Insider" or "Expert".

OK, There is a thread going in the general dirt bike discussion titled, "Head on collisions" that the OP is promoting a cell app for tracking a bike. Sounds like promoting a business to me!  BTW_ please don't post this in the thread.  I don't want do be on someone's spit list just because of reporting this.
