Where's my VIN?

Hey guys, I bought my 1987 rm125 (1985 rm125 motor) a while ago and I want to run the vin since I only bought it with a bill of sale. First off I'd like to ask where the vin even is. There's a number on the engine and that's all I've found. That number gets me nowhere when I run it through a vin website. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Vins or serial numbers will be on the neck where the steering is (on frame, behind headlight shroud). You may not have a complete vin though as its not street legal (ie not a full 17 digits).

Thanks for the info guys! I figured out that the PO lied and I have the wrong year listed on my bill of sale.... how could I fix this? I don't have the original bill of sale either, it's just a copy.

Also, does anyone know of a website that I can get a FREE vin check on?
