Did i get a good deal? 12' YZ450F

Recommended Posts

Ok, so long story short i decided that i wanted 2010 or newer Yamaha YZ450F for 4k or less. I live in oregon and could only find 4 or 5 bikes within a few hours of me that were what i was looking for.

I ended up finding a 2012 on craigslist that said it was pretty much brand new, And that it had 10 hours or less on it and he bought it as a left over in 2014, Guy said he only took it on one trip to the dunes. I really didn't want to buy a bike that had be in the sand but it looked really clean in the pictures and was a year newer then the other bike i was going to look at and had less hours. so i made the 2.5 hour drive into Washington to look at the bike.

To my surprise the bike did look brand new! And the front tire still has the nubs and chalk lines on it. The rear tire is brand new as well, He had the dealership put a paddle tire on when he first bought it. It still has all of the original parts grips etc... The bike looks like maybe it was rode for a hour or less. The guy originally wanted $4800.00 when he first posted it, After a week it dropped the price to $4600.00 I ended up getting it for $4400.00 with the title and all of the tools and owners Manuel. He also give me a Matrix M2 work stand that matches the bike.

The bike runs great and really looks like a brand new bike. So my question is do you think i got a good deal?

It's all relative to where you live and how the bike market is there. The local market is flooded with tons of newer bikes here and I paid $4500 for a 2015 yz450f with under 20hrs almost a year ago. With there being so many for sale here they are probably going for a lot cheaper here than your area. IMG_3567.JPG

Nice bike. Here in oregon you can't touch a 15 for under $5500

Just picked up a '16 retro 450F, with full FMF Ti exhaust for $6500 Cdn. Under 5 hours on bike, original owner had it

converted to a snow bike, did two rides, and decided it wasn't for him. Nubbers still on the tires, looks like new, pretty chuffed with the deal myself..

I think you got a smoking great deal! I paid $6000 for a dual sported, licensed and registered WR450F with roughly 200 miles on it here in Northern Maine last spring. It also has all of the GYTR upgrades and ECM.

Thanks. I feel like it's the best deal i could get for under $4500. The bike is as close i could get to a new bike.
