2014 KTM SXF 450 Primary gear removal

Recommended Posts

So i am rebuilding my bottom end and i cant find where to buy the puller tool to remove the primary gear. Does anybody have a better solution? Has anybody made a tool that was successful? Thanks in advance. NOTE: A two or three jaw standard puller will not work due the the taper behind the gear..

I found the tool on eBay...

Part number for the tool is 75029021000.  There is also a protector piece with part number 75029090000.  You could likely skip the protector but you will need to find another way to protect the end of the crankshaft from the puller since it will be pressing on the end of the crank as it pulls on the gear.  Might be able to take some delrin plastic rod and drill out the end to make it into a little cap for the crank so that the puller pushes on that part.
