Power Tuner issue

Recommended Posts

I have a brand new 2015 YZ250FX, I haven't run it yet, but will be breaking it in this week.  I wanted to hook up the power tuner just to see how much running time is on it from the dealer starting it up and such, but when I try to see, it just says "FAILURE TO CONNECT TO ECU"

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong.

I had everything off, plugged in the tuner, it turned on by itself, went to "MONITOR" and got that message....

Is the Power tuner bad, or god forbid my ECU???

ok, someone serious was kind enough to give me the right answer... (not Quincy Oconnor, haha!)

Apparently the ECU needs to "wake up" by stabbing the start button quickly without starting the bike after the tuner is plugged in.

Of course the instructions don't say this at all.

You can also start the bike and check the idle speed with the tuner (along with everything else).
