I just redid my entire 2003 motor last winter and went with OEM everything... No regrets, everything is perfect.

i specialize in 2 strokes so a little different but i stand by wiseco. affordable quality. which is impossible to find these days....

I would stick with OEM stuff.  There is a reason that Yamaha has such a great reputation with build quality.

No, I didn't keep a running total but probably around $1500-$1800, which I know is a lot for a 14 year old bike (more than the bike is worth) but I don't plan on selling it.  I'm going to keep it until it's dead and gone.  It's an excellent backup/buddy bike to have around.
