Rebuild Time

Recommended Posts

My breather hose on my valve cover popped off and spit oil everywhere. Bike didn't seize so I changed the oil and put the hose back on(was slightly kinked) and changed the oil now it blows smoke. Piston rings got fudged im sure. Gonna do a top end rebuild, see what everything else looks like when I take it apart but for now I need a kit. Was looking at wiseaco(?). Bike is an 09 wr450. Can anyone help me out?

Go stock, save the money. The pressure build up that pushed the oil out was caused from worn rings. Get a oem piston kit and gaskets and ride again. I usually buy a new cylinder when I do top ends so I don't have to fight oil glaze....but there are ways around it, if you care to get around it. Scotch Brite, soap and water will help a used cylinder seat the rings.

It's definitely burning oil. The hose did come off completely. After I put the hose back on it stayed on and the next time I rode it every time I got on the throttle it blew blue smoke. And the hose stayed on.
