2017 250 XC-W Frame?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Can someone tell me if the skid plate mounting holes and overall frame are the same shape/size from 2016 to 2017?  I've spent hours trying to figure this out.  I have a 2017 250 XC-W and there are virtually zero skid plate options.  I'm just looking for plastic, and prefer the Acerbis and Cyrca models.  But on all sites they only list these items being available for 2016 model years... nothing for 2017?

This is the one you want.

It doesn't say XCW but the engine and frame cradle shape is identical across all KTM and Husky SX/XC/XCW/TC/TE 250/300 models for 2017.

Edit: Actually on second look, it does have a 2017 EXC/XCW listing and the part number is exactly the same as the one for SX/XCs. So that just confirms what I said before.

I'm in Canada, and online options are pretty limited up here (Gnarlyparts and fortnine).  Buying in the USA with the exchange (.30) and shipping makes it difficult sometimes.  I was hoping to find out if the frames changed so I could easily order an Acerbis, or Cycra model (assuming the 2016 fits) locally and not have to deal with the headaches?

Saying all that, the AXP skid plates look great!!

From Motosport or Slaven?  How was the shipping?

Direct from AXP. It's cheaper and faster to buy from Europe (France in this case) than from the US for us Canucks. Go figure.

<edit> The shipping was 12 Euro - arrived in 5 days to central BC </edit>

I am 99% sure that the 250/300 use different frames for 2017, a lot of parts are different. But I ordered my bike setup with a EE bashplate, it was mounted when I picked the bike up. I know its a lot easier to remove and replace, like for an oil change, than the one on my 2008 is.
